Fontfontaine turns plain text into hundreds of strange-looking styles you can copy and paste anywhere: bios, comments, usernames, track titles, blog headings. Type once, tap the style you like, paste it wherever you were going.
Nothing here installs or downloads. Each style swaps your letters for real Unicode characters that happen to look like styled letters — mathematical alphabets, small capitals, circled and boxed forms, letters from other writing systems, combining marks stacked above and below. Because they are ordinary characters, they survive copy and paste into apps that give you no font menu at all.
The trade-off: a device without the right character set shows empty boxes instead, and screen readers can read styled text oddly. Keep anything important in plain text.
Fontfontaine is made by Doldrum Corp, a small independent shop. The site is free to use and is paid for by the advertising in the side columns.
